It’s a tribute to the mother Louise Pentland, a.k.a. Sprinkleofglitter, lost to the illness when she was only 7 years old.
The popular YouTube star uploaded an emotional video this week explaining that her “candy floss cotton candy pink” hair is her way of honouring her mother. Grab a tissue and watch the full video below:

Pentland has also set up a JustGiving page to raise money for Cancer Research UK and to date she’s amassed over £22,000.
“Cancer doesn’t just stop when somebody dies. It lives on in the hearts of the family and friends and for me, there is a huge Mum shaped hole that I have to cope with every day,” Pentland wrote. “I can never bring my Mum back but by raising money for Cancer Research UK we can bring the day they say, ‘We’ve done it! There is a cure for cancer!’ closer and nobody else will have to live out all their amazing life moments without their Mum.”
Breast Cancer Awareness Month runs for the month of October. Visit wearitpink.org for more ideas on how to pink it up to show your support and raise awareness of the importance of checking your breasts for early signs of cancer.
