Last night’s BBC Three documentaryProfessor Green: Suicide And Me triggered an outpouring of emotion on social media, as viewers praised the way in which the rapper tackled the issue of male suicide.

Professor Green — real name Stephen Manderson — also spoke candidly about losing his father Peter to suicide seven years ago.
Male suicide is still a taboo subject — but it shouldn’t be. The latest U.K. figures reveal that suicide is responsible for almost 5,000 male deaths every year, which is around four times that of suicide in women.
In an emotional and extremely thought-provoking look at why suicide is the biggest killer of men under 45 in the U.K. Manderson goes on a personal journey to find out the truth behind his father’s suicide, which includes touching scenes between him and his grandmother.
