5. Accmart pom-pom maker
I have a confession to make: I am pom-pom challenged. Every time I try to make a pom-pom by hand, I end up getting something that looks like a rat that jumped into a bucket of fabric dye. These pom-pom makers were an answer to my prayers. Now, my pom-poms always look like pom-poms, instead of colorful drowned rats. Nice! It comes in four different sizes: 3.5, 4.5, 6.5 and 8.5 centimeters. (Amazon, $11)
6. Anthony Stoneware handmade yarn bowl
This beautiful and unique handmade pottery bowl has a curved slot for easy yarn access while in use. It’s richly glazed and available in various shades with a unique textured rim. It keeps the yarn ball from rolling around the floor and away from playful pets. Each one is created by hand, so every piece is unique. It measures 6 inches by 3.5 inches and is made in North Carolina. It’s sure to be a treasured piece for years to come. (Amazon, $39)
7. Snapware yarn-tainer
Yarn-tainers storage containers keep balls or skeins of yarn contained and clean with an easy open-and-close lid. Smooth grommet in the lid will not snag yarn while in use. The wide-mouth canister makes it easy to drop in and retrieve yarn. It’s made out of shatterproof “flexiglass” and conveniently holds multiple skeins. Perfect for traveling. It comes in three different sizes. (Amazon, $11)
8. Clover yarn-cutter pendant
I can’t tell you enough how handy this is! Before I got one of these, I was constantly searching for my scissors to cut yarn while I was working on projects. Now I put this on before I start working, and no more scissor hunts! Yarn can be cut using any of the grooves — a rotary cutting blade is integrated with the pendant, making it safe to use. (Amazon, $6)
