Artist Troy Huang moved to New York City from China when he was 14. Over the years he’s fallen in love with the city.
So one day after design class he dreamed up the ultimate homage to his adopted city: a perfect, intricate model of Manhattan made with a 3-D printer and housed in a clear, acrylic tabletop to make an amazing, one-of-a-kind piece of art.

Huang created the work as a desk, “but it could be in many forms or a smaller piece as exhibit art,” he told SheKnows.
Check out how cool it looks all lit up. The legs are made out of acrylic and are meant to evoke the Twin Towers, Huang tells us. The laser-cut plywood base that holds the Manhattan replica has burnt edges which Huang says represent the Earth. The surrounding clear acrylic is meant to mimic the water.

The entire project took about seven weeks of 3-D printing, laser cutting and assembling, Huang says. That time doesn’t include what he says was “extensive” design time. Incredible. The whole thing is to precise scale, Huang tells us.

This beautiful Manhattan desk is for sale on Huang’s website for $25,000. He also accepts custom jobs, if you’ve got something in mind and a few bucks to throw his way.
Huang says his next project will be a replica of Chicago in bronze. We can’t wait to see how it turns out.
