I suppose I always just assumed all the hermit crabs dotting tiny tanks at beach stores were the same type of hermit crab. If I’m being really honest, I never knew there was more than one type of hermit crab. But to my surprise, there are more than 600 species of hermit crabs in the world — although only a few are available as pets.
