4. Their antennae serve a special purpose
Hermit crabs’ antennae sure do make them look even cuter, don’t they? That’s not all they do, though. In fact, the two sets of antennae essentially give the crabs their sense of smell. They are what you call chemosensory organs. And although their eyes also kind of look like antennae, they aren’t — they simply sit atop the ends of optic stalks.
