4. Basset hound
Well, really, who doesn’t adore the face of this floppy-eared fella? In addition to being so darn cute, basset hounds enjoy a reputation as one of the friendliest and most laid-back breeds. Its low energy level means it’s a big fan of lounging, although regular exercise is recommended to keep this short and stocky dog from developing health problems.
A fantastic family dog, kids love this droopy-looking breed and the feeling seems to be mutual. Plus, they’re pretty low-maintenance — minimal grooming is needed, although their mouth and wrinkles do need regular cleaning.
