Joanna Gaines’ New Pier 1 Collection Makes Modern Country Decor Affordable

HGTV‘s Fixer Upper isn’t just a show — it’s a way of life. It’s about serene country living, harmonious interior design and a shit-ton of shiplap. Can you cover a refrigerator in shiplap? What about a truck or a small child? If anyone can do it, we’re guessing Fixer Upper star and home hacker extraordinaire Joanna Gaines can. But until then, we can sate our country home decor cravings by indulging in a few items from Gaines’ new Pier 1 collection.

Gaines, who runs a home remodeling and design business called Magnolia Home with her husband Chip, has teamed up with Pier 1 to release a line of pillows and rugs that are perfect for your modern-rustic home. Joanna Gaines partnered with Loloi to design the more than 150 pillows and rugs (side note — Loloi’s collaboration with Jungalow designer Justina Blakeney is also unbelievably gorgeous). The Pier 1-Magnolia Home collection features woven wool-blend pillows with some fun textural elements in a variety of colorways, from muted peaches and pinks to high-contrast black and white designs.

While the pillows are pretty enough, it’s the rugs that really caught my eye. The collection is stunning, ranging from a simple white and blue stripe design to an elaborate shabby-chic floral number. But my personal favorites are actually a little different and more modern than the style I usually associate with Gaines — a super-saturated turquoise rug that I want to lay down over every square inch of my apartment and a modern black and white rug that’s a statement-making new neutral. Ogle them below.

A shiplap-heavy home needs a little color, and these pieces will definitely liven things up. Even though some of the colors are of the rustic-neutral, muted variety, they’ll add a soft brightness to any room. If you want to add that Fixer Upper look to your home (without having to move to Waco, Texas), you can find the new line in Pier1 stores on April 17 or check them out online now.
