This Highly-Rated Eye Cream Lessened My Puffy Eye-Bags After Staying Up All Night, Crying My Eyes Out to Rom-Coms

Anyone who knows me knows I’m a very emotional person. It takes nothing for me to cry. I will tear up at the drop of a dime; it doesn’t matter if it’s a sweet video of a heartfelt family reunion or watching a young girl say goodbye to her father; almost anything can cue the waterworks. I even get choked up when I leave my dog for the day. So, you can only imagine how much I bawled and cried my eyes out while watching a sweet yet somber romantic drama over the weekend. Not only was I wailing and sobbing by the end of the movie, I was so invested in the plot that it kept me up all night.

Now, why on earth am I telling you all of this? After a ridiculously late night of crying and sobbing, my eyes were incredibly swollen and puffy the next day. Like Power Puff Girls puffy. And because I’m always running late, there was no time to put spoons in the freezer or slap eye masks on, hoping my under eyes would look less tired and more presentable before leaving my apartment. I needed a quick fix and fast. Luckily, this all happened at a time when I was testing a new eye cream

As part of the Needles No More collection, Dr. Brandt‘s No More Baggage under-eye cream is said to reduce the look of under-eye bags while brightening and tightening loose, discolored skin with consistent use. So with it, gone are the days of considering costly injectables to help your under-eyes. However, like most beauty and skincare products, that can sound like a tall order to fill. Yet, Dr. Brandt still stands on these claims with promises of “visible results or your money back,” according to the brand. And as a beauty writer who’s tried endless products, I’m always skeptical when I hear things like that. Can it really be that good? Good enough to fix my tired, over-emotional, puffy eyes? Well, I’m here to let you know that it is good enough.

With an impressive 4.4-star rating and hundreds of rave reviews, I shouldn’t have been too surprised to see that this eye product worked. But, like I said, my eyes were puffy, and I could be a bit of a beauty skeptic. No More Baggage is formulated with the brands Filmatrix Technology and has ingredients like algae, plant extracts, and silicates. It also has peptides and caffeine that both work to reduce puffiness.

To be honest, I didn’t know what to expect at first use. The directions recommend using your usual eye cream and applying the No More Baggage on top. You should rub a couple of pumps between your fingers to warm the cream before applying. It comes out as a soft, burnt orange hue that blends so nicely on all skin tones, including melanated skin. I was a little worried because I didn’t know if it would dry orange, but it left a beautiful finish that gave my eyes a brighter look. I didn’t see my skin lifted, and the puffiness decreased immediately after applying; that would be like some real sorcery magic if so. However, within five minutes, I could feel the skin tightening around my under eyes, which was a little jarring at first but very satisfying at the same time. Then, 15 minutes later, by the time I was ready to leave, I could see that my eyes looked much less puffy than when I first woke up.

Over the next seven days, I used No More Baggage as my go-to eye cream. I felt like my eyes looked more awake than ever before, and quite frankly, that skin-tightening feeling was addicting. It also works as the perfect indicator for when my skin is ready to apply makeup. Sometimes, when I’m in a rush (which is always), I can ruin my makeup because I applied it too soon after applying skincare. With No More Baggage, I knew my skin was ready by sensing that cool, tingly feeling under my eyes. Plus, it looks amazing under my concealer.

The only negative thing I will say is that if you apply too much — which I’ve done — it can leave a little residue around the corners of your eye. If you’re wearing makeup, it’s not that noticeable, but the day I didn’t, I realized I had a bit dry out on the side of my eye.

Other than that, I’m so happy I found this gem. I can now cry my heart and eyes out as much as I want without worrying about super puffy eyes the next day.
