We Got to Peek Inside Giada De Laurentiis’ LA Home & It Wasn’t at All Like We Expected

Hearty, warm, comforting, and familiar: These are the descriptors that immediately come to mind when we think of Food Network star Giada De Laurentiis‘ dishes and recipes that are, for the most part, deeply rooted in her Italian heritage. The Giada at Home host‘s home, on the other hand, couldn’t be more opposite. It’s a contemporary, modern, luxurious, and downright gorgeous home, and it just sold for the full asking price of $7 million.

Located in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood in Los Angeles, De Laurentiis’ now-sold 6,500-square-foot home is not only an expansive stunner inside, but it also boasts incredible views of Potrero Canyon, the Santa Monica Mountains, and more.

The open floor plan home comes complete with floor-to-ceiling windows, sliding glass doors, and skylights, allowing for plenty of natural light.

The kitchen, which was likely De Laurentiis’ most frequented space, is outfitted with stainless steel appliances and has a nearly 24-foot island, sitting opposite a dual-faced fireplace.

Built in 2015, De Laurentiis purchased this five bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home in January 2016 for 6.9 million. The indoor-outdoor home comes with a glass-encased wine cellar, as well as a game room, a media room, a wet bar, and even underwater views of the pool.

Head up the floating staircase, and you’ll find what was once De Laurentiis’ pristine marble master bath, a huge closet with a skylight, and a deck with a fireplace. Four of the bedrooms are located upstairs.

De Laurentiis recently purchased a midcentury bungalow in the same Pacific Palisades neighborhood for nearly $5 million in August. According to De Laurentiis’ agent, Smith Cho, she listed the home because she “wanted to downsize.”

Her new, much more private home sits on a 0.31-acre triangular corner lot, with tall hedges for privacy. Built in 1958, the renovated cottage has an upgraded kitchen with an island and, of course, stainless appliances.

The five bedroom, five-and-a-half bath home is on the smaller end, too, at a little more than 3,600 square feet.
