As a Beauty Writer Who’s Tried It All, I Adore This Luxe Bar Soap That’s Given Me the Most Even Complexion Ever

Like most women of color, one of my biggest insecurities growing up was my skin’s discoloration. I felt so self-conscious when my legs or shoulders were exposed because my skin tone was never even. Growing up in the blistering heat of Florida’s sunshine, opting out of shorts and tanks was never an option. Eventually, I got over it because, well, what was I going to do? Sweat to death? Absolutely not. However, by the time I became an adult and started my career in beauty and fashion writing, I came across a body product that I only wished existed all those years ago.

It’s formulated with natural brightening agents like glutathione and kojic acid to help reduce the appearance of hyperpigmentation and dark spots by slowing melanin production. Not only does the Revivify Beauty Bar brighten skin, but it also gently exfoliates it and leaves your body feeling soft and supple.

I will admit, there are tons of lightning and brightening creams out there that probably could do the trick. But I found that most of them are made with super harsh chemicals and have a very odd smell (to say the least) that would deter me from using them at all. And because it’s in the form of a bar soap, I used it way more consistently than any other product. It’s a guarantee I’ll take at least one shower a day, but sometimes I slack on putting on lotion if I’m honest. But let’s be clear: the Revivify Beauty Bar Soap didn’t completely change my skin color — that would be wild. But it did even it out. So the areas on my knee’s elbows, under-cheek, and shoulder caps slowly but surely lightened up to match the rest of my body for a more even look. 

Also, this soap is truly an experience. Of course, I rate a product on how well it works, but I also consider how it makes me feel from beginning to end. Like is it easy to open? Are there a lot of steps? Does the packaging feel nice? And so on. This beautiful blue bar of soap comes in a gorgeous metal tin that just makes you feel like you’re using a bar of gold to cleanse your body. It also has a very refreshing scent that’s so delightful to use during a nice hot shower.
