As someone who writes about shopping for a living, there’s nothing more exciting than covering a new launch. For me, that’s especially true when it happens to be a beauty launch. What can I say? I’m a sucker for new things. At the same time, however, I can appreciate those tried and true products that have been around forever. Take the oh-so classic Estée Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Foundation, for instance.

The Estée Lauder fan-fave is a matte, buildable foundation that’s perfect for anyone looking for coverage that pretty much lasts all day. In fact, the brand claims it offers up to 24 hours of wear, and is sweat-, heat-, and humidity-resistant, which is perfect for the much warmer days ahead (“no touch ups needed”). Not only that, the foundation is so lightweight, you may even feel like you don’t have anything on. Currently, the foundation is available in 55 shades.

While there’s a seemingly endless amount of foundations out there (and guaranteed more to come), given the amount of shoppers who’ve used this for 20-plus years, it’s clearly doing something right.
