It’s official: I’m a full-blown adult. You’d think it would be me turning 18 and gaining the right to vote or 26 and paying for my health insurance that would solidify this moment, but nope. Instead, I know I’m no longer an overgrown teenager because I’m starting to care about things like hand soap. Something that never used to cross my mind and just happened to always be stocked in my bathroom, is now an item I deeply care about — so yeah, I’m officially an adult. And there’s one in particular that I can’t stop thinking about: Aēsop’s Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash.

I’ve seen the large round brown bottles sitting pretty on aesthetically pleasing bathroom counters all over social media (even Kim Kardashian has had Aēsop hand wash and balm in her bathroom) — but it wasn’t until I tried it for myself that I could understand the hype. My orthodontist would keep the lobby restroom immaculately clean and fully stocked with Aēsop products. Next to getting my braces off, washing my hands was one of my best experiences at that office. The Resurrection Hand Wash is not just any soap; it’s a super gentle formula that cleans your skin without stripping it and leaving them super dry. Made with mandarin rind, rosemary leaf, and cedar atlas, this clear gel soap has woody, citrus notes with a hint of lavender that instantly lifts your mood.

It’s fair to say that this hand soap is rather pricey, but there’s nothing like it to me. I’d consider myself a bit of a germaphobe; I’m constantly washing my hands — anytime I come inside, touch the garbage, and, of course, use the bathroom. Not that I’ve counted, but it’s safe to say I wash my hands at least five times a day — at least. And when I use other fragrant soaps, they dry my hands out so quickly. And while I can always apply a hand lotion afterward, it doesn’t mean I want to. When I use Aēsop’s hand wash, I don’t have that problem. Plus, who doesn’t love being a little bougie every now and then? Currently, Aēsop’s products are in every Waldorf Astoria hotel and resort as the in-room toiletries. And while staying at a Waldorf Astoria may not be in my future any time soon, I can have a little sense of luxury right in my bathroom.

My favorite scent is the Resurrection Aromatique Hand Wash. However, you can also opt for the Reverence Aromatique one, which has a more woodsy, smoky scent and offers an exfoliation experience thanks to the finely milled Pumice stones that leave your hands feeling soft and supple. Both are also available in refill sizes, so you can reuse the same pump or pour it into your dispenser.
