This Cordless Floor Washer Vacuums *and* Mops My Messy House in Under 30 Minutes

Humans with kids, pets, and/or messy spouses can pretty much all agree on one thing at least: cleaning up the house, especially the floor, is a never-ending saga. By the time you’re done vacuuming and then mopping, it’s time to vacuum and mop all over again. Toddlers will leave a trail of crumbs behind in their wake, dogs always shed, and let’s be real, the adults aren’t much better themselves (*side-eyes husband*).

Which is why a floor washer that simultaneously (and seamlessly) vacuums and mops is really clutch. IMO, Tineco has been ahead of the curve for a long time, coming out with innovative and easy-to-use floor washers for years (and I’ve been lucky to test several of them). I always raise my hand to try the latest Tineco product because, to be honest with you, my household really needs it. I have two gigantic dogs, and my husband and I are pretty messy humans. The floor always needs to be cleaned. Plus, we’ve got a little one on the way, and I don’t have the energy to clean like I used to.

With a floor washer like the Floor One Stretch S6, you can get your space feeling squeaky clean in half the time it takes to first vacuum and then mop. And it self-cleans when you’re done!

Ahead is my honest review of the Tineco Floor One Stretch S6, plus key features.

My Honest Review of the Tineco Floor One Stretch S6

After making sure the floor washer is charged, I add a cap-full of the accompanying cleaning solution, and fill the rest of water tank with water. It easily slides in, no problem. (Often times, when testing tech-y cleaning products, it takes a ridiculous amount of time training myself how to even use it — not this one!) I press the power button, and hit the pedal so that I can clean the floors at an angle, and I find that it’s near-effortless to push the cleaner forward and back, since it kind of propels itself forward (thanks to the assistive wheels).

The Floor One Stretch S6’s ability to simultaneously suck up dirt, food, dust, fur, and hair while wiping the surface afterward is a dream. Thanks to the brand’s proprietary iLoop Smart Sensor Technology, the floor washer detects when there is and isn’t debris, and appropriately uses its suction power to clear it and clean it away.

Next, is the washer’s “stretch” features, which is what makes this newest iteration so special: Its swiveling capabilities and triple-sided edge cleaning expertly cleans alongside baseboards without missing a millimeter of surface area, and because it’s designed to lie flat, you can get under hard-to-reach areas like the bed or dressers. The clean and dirty water tank systems are fully and securely locked, so you won’t have any spillage.

After you’re done, you’ll need to run the self-cleaning cycle, which takes seven minutes (two minutes of a hot water rinse, and a five-minute dry cycle) to thoroughly deep-clean the unit from the pipes to the brush roller. It also rotates the brush roller during washing to keep it fresh and odor-free. You’ll likely have to empty the dirty tank and rinse out the vessel — this takes maybe two minutes or so. I can get my entire house (I have three bedrooms, two baths, a fairly large kitchen for Los Angeles, and a bonus room — so not a small space) clean in the 40 minutes of run time — usually under, at around 30 minutes. I never get that with my regular vacuum and mop. Sometimes if the floor is extra dirty, I’ll have to stop midway and empty the tank, but I’d be doing this anyway if I were using my cordless vacuum (it’s because I’m cleaning up all that hair!).

The extra cool thing about the Floor One Stretch S6 is that it tackles (mops) spills, suctioning up what you want to clean, and leaving the surface sanitized, so it’s been a life-saver to use after cooking dinner. Often times, I’ll spill sauces and pasta water as I play chef in my kitchen, and when I’m done, I just use the Floor One Stretch S6 to pick up after me — and it’s like I was never there at all. Now, if someone can figure out similar tech to deal with all those dishes, we’ll be in business. 😉

Bottom Line

If you’re looking for a floor washer that eliminates at least one step and effectively cleans your surfaces with far less effort than you’re probably used to, I’d recommend the Tineco Floor One Stretch S6. It functions just as well as elite-tier brands, but considering it’s a vacuum-and-mop combo, it’s actually around half the price (a cordless vacuum can cost you up to $1,000, and a regular mop is anywhere from $30 to $100 — depending on which brands you’re looking at!). In terms of durability and longevity: I would still be using my older Tineco Floor One S5 if I wasn’t sent this new one to test for work, and my dad *still* raves about the Floor One S3 model I bought him for his birthday years ago. Tineco is a solid brand that truly holds up, so you’d be making a smart (and worthy) investment.
