I Ditched Liquid Foundation for This Easy-to-Apply Beauty Balm & It’s Been a Total Game-Changer for My Skin

Although I’m a beauty writer, I don’t enjoy all aspects of beauty. I love skincare but loathe doing my own hair and makeup. Of course, I do what I have to in order to look presentable daily (I’m not walking around looking like a mess!), but if I’m being honest, I rarely wear makeup, if ever. Usually, I leave my home barefaced, which might be great for my skin, but not so much for my self-esteem. Over the last two years, I’ve become very insecure about my appearance when I don’t wear makeup. I find myself constantly searching for ways to create a full face without doing too much. So when I heard Anastasia Beverly Hills launched a skincare-infused makeup product, I knew I had to try it.

The Beauty Balm Serum Boosted Skin Tint is the perfect product for someone like me who doesn’t like to wear too much makeup or doesn’t know how to. From top to bottom, it’s a must-have face product as it’s easy to use, applies well, and has skincare benefits. Unlike other foundations or skin tints, the Beauty Balm is made with hydrating ingredients that make your skin look glowy and help it feel good. It’s formulated with tiny spheres filled with hyaluronic acid that smooth fine lines and wrinkles. It also has a peptide complex, fatty acids, and shea butter paired with coconut, marula, and jojoba seed oil.

Beauty Balm Serum Boosted Skin Tint

In addition to its skincare benefits, the fact that the Serum Boosted Skin Tint is made in a stick formula has been such a game-changer to my routine. There are several reasons why I despise putting on makeup, but the one that sits at the top of the list is that it’s a messy process. Truly, I can’t stand how liquid foundation and powders seem to get everywhere — from the bathroom counter to my shirt or all over my hands. With the skin tint, I don’t have that problem. I can easily swipe the product across my face or even take a brush to it first before applying, but either way, there’s very little to no mess with this little guy.

At first, I didn’t know if I would like this product very much because it’s in a stick form and I’m used to liquid foundation. But applying it was actually my favorite part. Since it’s a stick, it is easy to blend with a brush for smooth and seamless coverage. However, the coverage is sheer, so it requires multiple swipes to achieve the look I’m after. With that being said, I did feel like applying that much product was heavy on the face, and since I have oily, combination skin, it didn’t hold up well without powder. But for the days that I don’t want a full face of makeup, it’s definitely something to reach for.

The Boosted Skin Tint is a must-have for my cosmetics bag — or any bag, for that matter. I can take it anywhere I go, so even when I don’t put on makeup before I leave my apartment, I can still apply the skin tint on the train or in the office before a big meeting or an event. I just have to make sure to bring a stippling brush with me because it blends better with a brush than with your hands or sponge.
