With the 2008 MTV Movie Awards on Sunday, we saw the good, the bad and the ugly in fashion from today’s hottest stars. Let’s take a look at some of the fashion do’s and don’ts that we learned from watching the MTV Movie Awards arrivals.
Do wear a feminine strapless dress
Megan Fox and Paris Hiltondo it right with flirty, feminine dresses featuring tiers, pleats and lace petticoats. These adorable dresses are a perfect for a summer party or other special event.
Don’t go too short
Lindsay Lohanruins the look by wearing an outfit that is a little too short. A longer skirt with more of a flare would have been much more flattering. And maybe if her dress wasn’t so short, she wouldn’t have had a wardrobe malfunction. In other LiLo news, she has called off plans for her 22nd birthday party. Apparently, she is concerned about getting more bad press about her wild lifestyle. Lindsay checked into rehab three times last year.
Do wear something from decades gone by
Sarah Jessica Parkerlooked extremely hot in this outfit reminiscent of the 1960’s. Like go-go dancers before her, Jessica wore a tight, long sleeved mini-dress and very cute white ankle boots. Her fuchsia clutch is a nice touch.
Don’t wear something from another dimension
Charlize Theron, who is one of the prettiest faces in Hollywood, completely misses the mark in this outfit. I’m not sure where she was trying to go with this look; it’s like a cross between a dominatrix and a Sci-Fi vixen. The corset is a little short for her body and the Vivier heels don’t go well with the pants.
Do add a splash of color with your shoes
Meagan Good does good things with her bright blue platform pumps. They are a terrific complement to her sexy silver metallic dress. A bold burst of color really turns heads.
Don’t try too hard to be different
Shoes of a contrasting color can make a wonderful fashion statement, but don’t try too hard to be unique. Whitney Port’s chunky black sandals are completely inappropriate with her red satin dress. A dainty, strappy sandalor a simple peep-toe pump would have been just fine.
