You could argue that a t-shirt is actually part of the whole ensemble, but Jeane Beiter of the Jeane B. style consulting firm lists it under her must-have accessories. “The white shirt wins hands-down for the current trend piece most easily used as a timeless, seasonless wardrobe staple,” she says. “Whether your style is conservative, creative or alluring, there’s a white shirt that is just right for your look.” Consider tunic length to wear over jeans or leggings, and waist length to match with a fitted suit or pencil skirt and cardigan. Natural fabrics like cotton, tissue-weight wool and silk last longer and drape more easily over most body shapes.
