Layered Lighting
The trend of using different levels of lighting in the kitchen will continue to expand. Recessed lighting at ceiling level to supply ambient lighting will remain a common feature of most kitchen designs, but adding chandeliers or hanging light fixtures to provide task lighting is going to be seen much more frequently than it has over the last twenty years. You will also see more internal lighting in cabinets and focused accent lighting using LEDs to keep the cost low. Use of LED lighting under cabinets is going to grow as well.
