Although some people think of wreaths only during the holidays, they can actually be used year-round to add style to the front of your home. Displaying a decorative wreath on your front door can greatly increase the “curb appeal” of your home, and can accentuate your other outside decorating accents. Wreaths are an easy and inexpensive way to add color and class to your front door, especially if you make the wreaths yourself.
Wreaths add year-round style
Although almost everyone is familiar with the stylish accent of a Christmas wreath, the end of the holiday season doesn’t mean you can’t still decorate your door with a wreath. One great way of decorating with wreaths is to use a different one for every changing season.
Winter wreaths
During the winter, an evergreen wreath can add the perfect touch. You could decorate the wreath with red poinsettias and a big bow during the Christmas season, then remove those accents and simply add pine cones and cranberry sprays throughout January. You could then add some red and pink wooden hearts to the wreath for the month of February.
Spring wreaths
In spring, a grapevine wreath can work well, decorated with spring flowers, or accented with plastic eggs for Easter.
Summer wreaths
Summer is a great time for a patriotic wreath, which works well for Memorial Day, Independence Day, and even Labor Day.
Fall wreaths
In the fall, sunflowers, dried flowers and seed pods, small pumpkins and gourds can be added to a grapevine or straw wreath for the perfect decorative accent.
