Steal the look: Hollywood’s freshest faces

Remember the glory days of blue eyeshadow and green mascara? Good times — and good that they’re behind us. These days, one of the hottest looks in Hollywood is makeup so fresh it looks like you’re not wearing anything. Take a look at these beauties, and learn how you can get the look.

The beauty of natural-looking makeup is that it can take you anywhere. Go from the grocery store to the sleekest boutique — or hit the red carpet. Hey, why not? You’re a superstar in your own right. So look the part, just like Rachel McAdams, Ginnifer Goodwin and Zoe Saldana.

On the red carpet — or your playroom floor

Even if you’re not up for an Oscar, you can look like you deserve one. Rachel’s look starts with primer to ensure foundation slides on smooth and evenly. Primer “will help your foundation stick long in to the night and prevent it from caking,” says Lauren Cavallo Runzel, a former fashion model and the owner of GAVIN Boutique, a women’s apparel and accessory store. To keep the look natural, says Cavallo Runzel, “use a lightweight foundation and apply it minimally. Use a concealer one shade lighter than your skin to mask dark circles.” Finish with translucent powder to keep your face looking matte all evening.

Skin

For a “subtle but natural glow,” Cavallo Runzel recommends a terra cotta bronzer to the places the sun would naturally hit your face — your forehead, the bridge of your nose, and your cheekbones. “Apply a bit of highlighter under your blush to highlight your cheekbones,” she suggests.

Eyes

Rachel’s dramatic eyes are what really take her look to the red carpet. Get it by” dusting the entire eye area with a bone-colored shadow, then fill the crease with a plum-colored shadow to update the great smoky eye,” says Cavallo Runzel. For the wing effect, line your eyes with stick eyeliner, and follow up with a liquid eyeliner and smudge it with a cotton swab to intensify your look.

Lashes

Use a thickening mascara on your lashes. “Let one coat dry and then reapply a second coat for a thicker, fuller look,” she says. Finally, to create flawless eyebrows, Cavallo Runzel says to “fill your natural brow line with a powder that matches your natural hair shade. Cover with brow gel to keep them in
place.”
