4 Fashion rules that are meant to be broken

Before we started to dress ourselves there are pre determined fashion rules that governed what and when we wore things. Now as fashion has changed these rules are meant to be broken!

Four fashion myths

Don’t wear brown and black together

When mixing brown and black be sure that the brown is rich in color and not a deep chocolate brown that could almost be mistaken for black. If your look is intentional then no one will think you changed in the dark. Wearing brown boots with a black ensemble is a great trend this fall that makes breaking this rule a good thing.

Don’t wear white after Labor Day

Wearing white in the winter is as simple as finding warm sweaters, coats, hats and scarves in a cream or white hue. To make this a Do instead of a Don’t, stay away from your summer white eyelet fabric, chiffon dresses and the like.

Match your makeup to your outfit

When choosing an eye color shade that contrasts with your outfit remember to keep your skin tone in mind. Just because you can wear a bright eye shadow doesn’t mean you should. But at least now you can stop stressing about making your makeup match your dress.

Don’t mix your metal jewelry

Wearing gold and silver is no longer forbidden. From necklaces to bracelets to rings… you can mix and match your metals. Layering more of each together will give great interest and give your jewelry a whole new look!
