Holiday hairstyles: Long and wavy

You don’t have to wear your hair up just because you are getting dressed up for a holiday party. In fact, long, flowing locks look absolutely gorgeous when paired with a sizzling strapless dress. Some updos can be too coiffed and stiff. For a modern, sexy look, wear your hair down in loose waves instead.

Create long,
loose waves

If you aren’t lucky enough to have natural waves, use a curling iron, held vertically, to created beautiful waves. Instead of clamping down the iron on your hair, wrap the hair around the iron. Repeat all over your head, then gently run your hands through your hair to loosen the curls into gorgeous waves.

Skip the necklace

With long waves and a strapless cocktail dress or evening gown, you shouldn’t over-accesorize. Skip the necklace and just wear a pair of large sparkling earrings that can be seen through your hair.

Go half-up,
half-down

If you like some of your hair away from your face, pull the front portion of your hair up and leave the long, loose waves in the back. Use beaded combs, crystal clips or a glitzy headband to secure your hair.
