Hot right now: Top 10 Spring fashion trends

The weather is warming up. The flowers are blooming. It’s springtime! If you are looking to add some spring style to your wardrobe, check out the hottest spring fashion trends. From flirty florals to crisp whites, you’ll love these sensational spring fashions.

Wide-leg pants

Toss your skinny jeans aside and replace them with a great pair of wide-leg pants. This season, wide-leg trousers with a high waist are hot for the office, while wide-leg flare jeans are trendy for weekend wear. Wide-leg pants can be slightly flared or way out there. Shop around and figure out how wide you want to go.

Citrus colors

Pantone selected honeysuckle (a fabulous pink) as the hottest color of 2011. And though the pinks are still hot for spring, citrus shades are taking center stage. Add a punch of color to your look by incorporating pieces in bright shades of orange and yellow. If you wouldn’t dare wear a bold orange dress, you can still get into this trend with accessories. Citrus-y handbags, shoes and jewelry look fabulous with everything from crisp white to basic black.

Pajama dressing

Finally, we can relax. Pajama dressing dominated the runways at Spring 2011 Fashion Week. And fortunately, this is a runway trend that translates well into real life. Fluid silk pants, flowing long skirts and sheer, billowy tops in neutral shades and fun prints offer a cool, comfortable style that can’t be beat.

Mixed prints

Forget all the fashion rules you’ve always known when it comes to prints. This season, mix patterns all you want. Playful polka dots, stripes, florals and graphic prints come together in an eclectic mishmash that works beautifully for spring. To pull off this look, pick prints that are the same color scheme and the same scale. When you wear so many prints, keep your handbag, jewelry and shoes very simple and neutral.

’70s flavor

Peasant blouses, big floppy hats, flared jeans and platform shoes — retro pieces from the ’70s are a big part of spring fashion. You don’t need to dress head-to-toe in hippie-chic fashions, but it’s fun to incorporate a piece or two from the ’70s. Check out some of the ’70s-inspired fashions from the Marc Jacobs show at Spring 2011 Fashion Week in the video below.
