Old Navy: The new celeb fashion hot spot?

Female celebs are showing up at red carpet events styled in a super cheap and chic Old Navy sundress. What’s the appeal?

A dress by budget retailer Old Navy is a certified hit among celeb fashion fanatics. The women’s ruffled shiffon sundress – priced at just $34.50 – has been spotted on celebs like Carmen Electra and LaLa Velazquez in recent weeks.

The sundress, available in black, yellow and red floral print, is part of Old Navy’s spring collection. British television host Louise Roe explained the dress’ appeal to UK’s Daily Mail newspaper.

“That dress – well apart from being a total bargain, its just easy to wear,” Roe said. “It’s loose but with a drawstring so you can adjust the waist and length. Plus everything I buy for summer seems to have flowers on it- I love wearing florals.”

Roe even added some tips on how to accessorize the budget sundress.

“I added a biker jacket and heels to mine because I wore it out at night, but you could just as easily wear it with a chunky knit cardigan and flat sandals, and it’d be perfect for day,” she advised.

We think this dress is perfect for a night out when the weather warms up a bit. However, you should probably skip wearing it to the office – it measures just 34-inches from shoulder to hem, so it’s pretty short if you’re on the tall side.
