Kate Middleton both looked and smelled beautiful on her big day. What scent did she choose to woo Prince William at Westminster Abbey?
We know all the details about Kate Middleton’s wedding dress, wedding day makeup and her simple and sexy hairstyle, but what fragrance did she wear at Westminster Abbey?
Wonder no more! ELLE reports that the new Duchess of Cambridge chose White Gardenia Petals by Illuminum. The perfume — which will set you back about $115 — is described “as a blend of lily, gardenia, ylang ylang, lily of the valley, and jasmine.” Sounds like the perfect fresh fragrance fit for a princess!
Middleton’s fragrance choice brings up a good point: Should you go with the tried-and-true fragrance on your big day, or should you find something new (like Middleton did.)
Good news! It’s up to you! It’s your big day after all — why would you let anyone else decide what works for you?
“Having advised many a bride to be my first tip is to look at your past and current collection of fragrances. What was/is it about them that you love(d)? This can help determine what kind of fragrance you tend to feel best wearing,” fragrance expert Colin Murchie wrote on the Escentual blog.
“Then I always say test, test and test some more! Many fragrance stores will be very helpful providing samples and advice if you tell them you are looking a wedding day fragrance,” Murchie continued. “Try to get some samples to take home with you so that you can wear them for at least a day to get a feel if this is what you want. Then, write down the final few that really stood out and try them again! It may even be wise to buy 2 or 3 small bottles of these so you can wear them many times and contrast and compare.”
A good rule of thumb: Always follow your heart!
Oh, and Kate Middleton’s wedding day perfume is always an option and is available at Lucky Scent, 29 Casanova and Roullier White.
