Celebrity décor: Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne’s Los Angeles Home

While Sharon Osbourne gets ready for next week’s premiere of America’s Got Talent, the June issue of Architectural Digest boasts a fantastic spread of the Osbourne’s Los Angeles home. Celebrity interior designer — and star of the new Bravo docu-series Million Dollar Decorators — Martyn Lawrence-Bullard shares details about the couple’s design process and vision.

Out with the old

Initially, Lawrence-Bullard admits that Sharon needed help de-cluttering her substantial collection of home furnishings. “I said to Martyn, ‘please make my house a home,’ ” Sharon recalls to Architectural Digest. ” ‘Tell me, what do I lose and what do I keep, and where do I put it all?’ ” The designer helped her purge some of the furnishings, while guiding her through a more discriminating home-décor shopping process. “I did have to control Sharon from buying everything she could see,” joked the designer.

Dramatic entrance

The foyer shows off a dramatic spiral staircase that sweeps in front of an atrium of windows. Custom-made porter’s chairs covered in Edelman Leather sit perched beside a 19th century French table. Placed in the center of the table is a bronze hand sculpture by British artist Marc Quinn.

Heart of the home

The living room is the centerpiece of the 10,000-square-foot estate, with light flooding in through numerous windows. It’s a bright, cheerful room where the former Black Sabbath frontman likes to sit and paint. The walls are painted in Benjamin Moore’s Antique White with a reclaimed brick fireplace surround as a focal point in the room. The Victorian-era sliding barn doors were picked up at American Garage Antiques and lead you into the kitchen, while the sectional sofa, Byron wing chair and the Jaipur cocktail table are all by Martyn Lawrence-Bullard Design.

Farmhouse kitchen

Even though the kitchen (like the rest of the home) is brand-new, it has a relaxed country-house feel to it, and it’s where Sharon displays her collection of vintage Americana. A rustic dining table has special meaning because it has been with the family for years. “Everything major that happens to them they carve into the wood,” explains Lawrence-Bullard. How cool is that?

Be sure to check back next week, when we take a look at the rest of the Osbournes’ palatial estate.
