Shenae Grimes: From 90210 to Teen Vogue intern

Whaaa? Gorgeous 90210 star Shenae Grimes is trading scripts for fashion magazines as an intern for Teen Vogue this summer.

What happens when 90210 meets The Devil Wears Prada?

Well, we don’t know, but we’ll find out soon enough — 90210 actress Shenae Grimes is interning at Teen Vogue in New York City this summer and is blogging all about it.

“So excited to be part of the hustle and bustle of NY, a city I’ve dreamed of living in my whole life and at a magazine I’ve grown up loving nonetheless!!” Grimes wrote May 12 on her personal blog. “SO excited to be a part of the Teen Vogue team for the next couple months… Stay tuned to find out more about my Teen Vogue and Big Apple adventures! XX”

She made the official move to NYC for the summer last week.

“Had my first walk-through at the Teen Vogue offices and I can’t begin to describe how excited I am to start work on Monday!” She wrote. “Fashion has always been such a passion of mine but I’ve yet to have the opportunity to explore the world of print magazines and all the hard work that goes into producing those things we snatch off the racks and flip through every month. The office was full of clothes for upcoming features, I was wide-eyed like a kid in a candy store…or just, me in a candy store… hopefully I won’t get too distracted! ;)”

And she finally started work this week.

“I’m home from my first day as an intern at Teen Vogue and boy, am I wiped! With a million shoots to prepare for, the office was a zoo of clothes today and I don’t think I sat down once! I was definitely put to work, which is exactly what I had hoped for and while it’s been a while since I’ve felt this exhausted, it’s also been too long since I’ve felt this fulfilled!” Grimes wrote.

We have to say, this is a pretty interesting cross-promotion concept between Teen Vogue and the CW. We’re wondering what value each side is getting out of Grimes’ pseudo-internship?

All we know is that she’s likely to have a better internship experience than most colleged-aged fashion editor wannabes. Doubt she’ll be getting anyone’s coffee!
