6 U.S. National Parks to visit this summer

Acadia National Park

Acadia became the first national park east of the Mississippi River in the early 20th century. Its location along the rugged coast of Maine attracts visitors to the park’s granite peaks, historic carriage roads and the tallest mountain on the Atlantic coast. Its rich culture includes Native Americans, European settlers, artists and conservationists. Today, Acadia protects 47,000 acres of varied landscape including shore, forests, lakes and mountains.
