Fragrances for the geek girl in your life

I just returned from the geek mecca known as the San Diego Comic Con, where I learned about some pretty cool beauty products. Now, I’ve seen this line before, but…let’s just say that the fragrance of the Con floor is usually less than ideal. When you smell something lovely, you run screaming towards it and beg to be told what it is.

Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs

The fragrance line is called Black Phoenix Alchemy Labs and their fragrances are geektastic! Here’s some info about the line:

“Welcome to the Lab! We specialize in formulating body and household blends with a dark, romantic Gothic tone. Our scents run the aesthetic gamut of magickal, pagan and mythological blends, Renaissance, Medieval and Victorian formulas, and horror / Gothic-themed scents. By utilizing our knowledge of homeopathy and aromatherapy, the conceptual theories of hermetic alchemy, and the aesthetic artistry of perfumery, we have mastered the art of encapsulating allegorical ideas into singular olfactory experiences. We are the first of our kind, and have over fifteen years of practical experience in the field. Our expertise shows.”

Pretty cool, right? They’ve got fragrances based on Alice in Wonderland, Dungeons & Dragons, comic books and The Last Unicorn. Show me a person who didn’t cry at that movie and I’ll show you someone with a hole where their heart should be. These make the perfect gift for the geek in your life.

My current favorite? “Evil” from the Dungeons & Dragons collection. Evil smells good! I’m also a big fan of “Alice,” which is a scent composed of milk, honey, rose, carnation and bergamot. Want something a bit darker? Check out “Anne Bonny,” named after the famous female pirate and composed of Indonesian red patchouli, red sandalwood and frankincense.

Black Alchemy Phoenix Labs fragrances are available at blackphoenixalchemylabs.com and retail for $17 for 5 fl.oz.
