We all love a good bargain, but every once in a while, a splurge in the skincare department is the best thing you can do for your skin. There are a ton of creams and lotions out there — things to drench your skin with and smear across your face. But if you love makeup (and we certainly do), have oily skin or you just can’t stand the feel of creams on your face in the heat of the sun, a serum may be your best bet.

Darphin has been around for a long time and they certainly know how to do skin care right. But I’ll be honest. Until I tried this one, I didn’t believe it would work. This paraben-free formula is light and oil-free. In fact, it feels like you’re putting a drop of water on your face. But oh my gosh, it hydrates! I mean, my skin felt amazing, even after using super drying stage makeup. I even did a little experiment. I put it on one hand before a hike in the desert and not the other. I was out there for hours and normally I feel like I have to bathe in olive oil after a hike like that. The hand I put the serum on looked vastly different! It was smooth, soft and it felt great!

Darphin’s website says you need five drops for your face. I’d say you’ll be fine with one or two. A little goes a very long way. Also, pump the drop into the palm of your hand and not on your fingers. It’s very liquid-y and you don’t want to waste it.
