Coming up this week on Home by Novogratz, Bob and Cortney team up with Boston Celtics’ superstar Paul Pierce to renovate his high school gymnasium. Here’s a preview of the episode that airs this Saturday 10/9c.
A worthy project
This Saturday on Home by Novogratz, Bob and Cortney move their renovation magic out West to make over Paul Pierce’s high school gymnasium. The Inglewood, California, gym will be remade into an inspirational space for students to gather for team meetings and do homework. We can’t wait to see the details behind this unique overhaul – a high school gym is not your standard HGTV-renovation fare.

Truth on health initiative
Paul Pierce’s Truth on Health Initiative (no doubt a play on his nickname, “the Truth,” given to him by Shaquille O’Neal) is devoted to helping kids get healthy through proper eating and exercise. Working with kids is something close to both Pierce’s and the Novogratzes’ hearts, and this project’s overall goal is to make the kids feel appreciated, while creating a sense of community.
The vibe
What will the hip and artsy couple dream up for something generic like a high school gymnasium? It’s expected to have a ’60s vibe, with splashes of cool hues and retro lighting. It will be interesting to see how they make such a large space feel warm and inviting – we do know that incorporating graphic focal points and oversize imagery is how they plan to fill up the wall space.
Tune in for the big reveal
In the end, a big neighborhood event is scheduled to reveal the finished product to the school. Hopefully, the kids will feel they have scored big with this makeover. Be sure to tune in this Saturday at 10/9 Central time to check out the final results and let us know what you think.
