Get Nina Dobrev’s Emmy makeup look

Nina Dobrev, the lovely star of The Vampire Diaries on the CW made a splash on the Emmy red carpet last night with that incredible red mermaid dress. But she also had some beautiful makeup! We’ve got tips for you if you’re coveting her look.

The Vampire Diaries is a guilty pleasure for most of us and Nina Dobrev always looks polished on the red carpet. But she had a particularly wonderful look at this year’s Emmys. If you could manage to take your eyes off her incredible red dress (not sure if the poor girl ate recently to fit in it, but she looked great), you’ll have noticed her wonderful makeup look. And we’re going to help you steal it.

Eyes

Dobrev’s eyes were the focal point of her face. We’re into Bobbi Brown’s Tortoiseshell Eye Palette. Buff some of the brown shadow on the entire lid and in the crease. Then take the darkest color and apply it in a big ”V” on the outside of the eye. Line with the same color with a wet brush and cover with lots and lots of mascara. Blending is the key. We suggest doing the eyes first here so you can wipe off the excess before you use foundation.

Bobbi Brown’s Tortoiseshell Eye Palette is available from sephora.com and retails for $60.

Cheeks

All the Emmy ladies kept the cheeks soft this year. Dobrev went for a soft bronzer, mostly up on the high cheekbones and not on the apples. We love Yves Saint Laurent bronzer in Bronze Sheen/Matte Peachy Nude. Keep it light and remember to tap the excess off the brush.

Yves Saint Laurent bronzer is available at sephora.com and retails for $49.

Lips

Dobrev has the coloring to sport a shiny nude lip. We suggest MAC Crèmesheen Glass in Just Superb. It’s a lovely pale pink shimmer and complements the eyes perfectly.

MAC Crèmesheen Glass is available at maccosmetics.com and retails for $19.
