Ode to accessories
Let me start with full disclosure – I could probably spend my entire style budget on purses, rings, necklaces and every accoutrement in between. I don’t – because that would be silly (plus I would have nothing to wear), but accessories remain one of my favorite things to shop for. With the change in seasons, I wanted to share my latest finds. I have a feeling you’re going to love them as much as I do!
Leather bowling bagI may have zero interest in bowling (and be much too uncoordinated to knock any pins down), but that doesn’t mean I didn’t fall instantly in love with this brown leather bowling bag (Zara, $129). Globe ringStatement accessories can add so much to an outfit with so little effort. This Michael Kors globe ring (Neiman Marcus, $85) is a great example of elegant simplicity. Pair this eye-catching, dome-shaped ring in golden brass with any outfit that needs a little something extra to take it to the next level. |
Geometric bangleBrighten up an otherwise neutral palette with this playful geometric bangle in a bold shade of green intersected with gold (Top Shop, $28). I love the cheerful hue and retro-inspired design, not to mention how cute this bangle will look with an all-black ensemble. |
iPhone caseWhile not a standard accessory (in the sense that I don’t wear it, my iPhone does), I had to include this adorable Kate Spade iPhone 4 case featuring white polka dots on a black background (Nordstrom, $40). Polka dots are a current style staple – and a pattern I can’t resist. Let’s face it – gadgets are now a must-have accessory in their own right, so we might as well dress them up! |
Floral scarfNot just a summer style must, florals are steadfastly hanging on to the fashion spotlight. Fend off an autumn chill with this pretty scarf featuring a soft-edge floral pattern in rich fall-inspired jewel tones (J. Crew, $59.50). This piece will pair well with a distressed denim jacket or use it to add a splash of color to a gray or cream sweater. |
