From bold purple hues to glitzy metallic shades, the latest eye shadow trends for fall are rich and wild. Check out these five fall eye shadow colors.
Vibrant violet
Purple, in both eye shadow and lipstick, is hot for fall. Bold, vibrant violet shadows with a touch of shimmer are perfect as the main component in a purple smoky eye.
You can even wear it for daytime. It’s dramatic but doesn’t have to be overwhelming; just use a light hand when applying and keep the rest of your makeup very simple and neutral. You’ll love Shiseido Shimmering Cream Eye Color ($25) in Purple Dawan from the fall collection.
Shimmery gold
You can wear gold eye shadow for day or night this autumn, as well. Check out the Bobbi Brown Tortoise Shell Collection for fall, which features two eye shadow palettes (one for light skin, one for dark). Each palette ($60) features eight stunning shadows in shades of brown, gold, bronze and more. Layer the various shades, highlighting your lids with the shimmering gold for a glamorous look that can’t be beat.
Blue-gray
Shades of gray from dove gray to charcoal are always hot for fall in fashion and beauty. This season, it’s all about the blue-gray hues. Try the Impromt-Blue shade of Clinique’s new Lid Smoothie Antioxidant 8-Hour Eye-Colour ($19.50). This crease-resistant, fade-resistant cream eye shadow is chock full of nourishing ingredients and delivers smooth, silky color that lasts and lasts.
Bright lime
Bright colors aren’t just for warm weather anymore. You can make them work when the weather cools down, too. Partner bright lime eye shadow with gray or brown to create the perfect hue for fall. Pick up the MAC Colourizations Double Feature Shadow Compact ($25) in Double Feature 2, which features bright lime and frosty deep gray.
Green-bronze
We have seen this color in nail polish this season, and it looks fabulous on the eyes, too. The Pine Bronze shade of Sateen Eye Colour ($22) from the Laura Mercier Canyon Collection is the perfect example. This creamy powder shadow is longwearing and absolutely beautiful.
If you always wear black or brown eyeliner, break out of your routine this fall. Shades of aqua, silver, terracotta and khaki are popular. Apply lightly and start out with a thin, precise line. You can always add more or smudge the line a bit to turn up the intensity.
