Fall is always a great transitional time for makeup, and 2011 is all about the eyes. Bring the drama or just add some natural light that will brighten, lift and make your eyes look full of life. Here are five fall eye shadow trends we spotted on the runways and beyond.
Taste the muted rainbow
In spring 2011, designer Jason Wu showcased a series of super bright eye shadow colors that made the lids of his runway models really pop. Since everything is a little more relaxed during fall, try muting those bright colors. Instead of bright blue, opt for a baby-blue pastel or a smoky blue-gray. Rather than bright purple, mute out blues and greens with a soft, pale lavender. Play around with color and see which colors work best for you.
Shimmer and shine
Shimmer brings light and life into tired eyes, and 2011 is all about subtle shine. Don’t go to the brightest shade in your makeup bag. Get inspired by the changing leaves and scenery around you.
