Welcome to Pretty Little Things, where each week we bring you our picks for the prettiest little things online. If we love it, you’ll be the first to know! This week, we’re sharing our picks for the fall heels we’re currently coveting.
A well-heeled obsession
Being a petite person (I’m five feet tall), it’s not surprising that I’ve always gravitated towards heels. What began as a fashion interest has morphed into a full blown sartorial obsession — I can’t walk into a shoe store without walking out with a pair of heels. With that in mind, I thought it would be fitting to share some of the pairs I have recently added to my must-have list.
Snake printAll things reptilian have been firmly rooted in the style spotlight since early fall, but I still can’t get enough. That’s why this pair of leather kitten heels in a textured snake-like print caught my eye (Anthropologie, $148). I’ll be wearing these with more neutral outfits so they get the attention they deserve. |
Leather pumpsEvery shoe collection needs a good pair of pumps — it’s an unwritten rule. But finding that perfect pair can take time and patience, which is why when you find them, you buy them. For me, it’s this leather pair with a rounded toe and flattering silhouette (J. Crew, $198). I also love the fact that they come in several colors including basic black, taupe, blue and red so I can pick up a few different shades. |
Pretty platformsI immediately developed a shoe-crush on this pair of Diane von Furstenberg suede platform pumps with a buckled ankle strap (Shopbop.com, $295). Being unable to leave the reptile trend alone, these sexy shoes also feature a lizard-embossed leather covered platform and heel. I particularly love the muted green hue and stylishly structured look of these pretty pumps. |
Gathered bootieBooties are one of my go-to footwear picks whether I’m wearing a pencil skirt and blouse, cocktail dress or even jeans and a T-shirt. I find them versatile and comfortable. I recently added this gray suede pair to my wish list (Banana Republic, $180). The way the suede is gathered in small, delicate folds really caught my eye. |
Cap-toe heelThe simplicity of these black pumps is taken up a notch with a bold blue cap toe (Zara, $80). Color block is another mainstay trend and I like the way it’s utilized here, in an understated way. Pair these with a knee-length wool skirt and a fitted sweater for an easy but elegant office look. |
