With the holidays right around the corner, scoring the best beauty deals on cosmetics is a top priority. Check out our top tips for finding this season’s hottest beauty deals on sexy skin care, hair care, makeup must-haves and more.
Snag coupons online
The Internet is your oyster. Check out the slew of promo and coupon sites serving up discounts as deep as, well, free, on some of your favorite beauty brands and products. Many of these websites have searchable categories such as “health” and/or “beauty” to give you a bit of guidance, while others have a section devoted strictly to savings on gifts. Retail Me Not, Coupon Chief and Sweet-Savings.com are great places to start.
Sign up for daily deal alerts
Similar to promo and coupon sites, daily deal sites such as Groupon and Living Social offer huge discounts on everything from hot-stone massages to deep-cleansing facials. If you stumble across a beauty gift your BFF might love, you can send it to her right away. Simply sign up for these types of sites by entering in your email. You’ll find a targeted deal (or two or three) waiting for you in your inbox every morning.
Check out flash sale sites
“Most flash sale sites have a calendar of what’s upcoming for the week,” says Melissa Liebling-Goldberg, editorial director of Gilt.com. If you see a beauty sale in which you might be interested, you can add it to your calendar (or use the “add to calendar” button on the site) to set yourself a note. You can also use Facebook to get ahead of the game, explains Liebling-Goldberg. Many flash sale sites now offer sneak peeks of their sales on social media before they actually go live. Take this time to strategize about what you want to buy and to check online reviews of products you might purchase. Check out HauteLook, Gilt Groupe and Rue La La.
Shop off-price retailers
“Check off-price retailers like Marshalls and T.J.Maxx for luxury beauty and bath products at up to half the price of department and mall stores,” says Marshalls and T.J.Maxx Style Expert Sonya Cosentini. “These stores carry many of the brands you know and love, as well as hard-to-find beauty products from around the world, like French soaps, salt scrubs from the Dead Sea, and lotions from Australia.” Another off-price retailer to try is Nordstrom Rack.
Step up your social media game
You’re on Twitter and Facebook most of the day anyway, so use it to your advantage: Become a fan of your favorite beauty brands on Facebook and follow them on Twitter. Companies often post exclusive promo codes for fans to redeem, or they tweet them to followers (especially around holiday time).
