Oh so Zoe! Rachel’s fall 2012 line

Before hitting up the runways at 2012 Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week, SheKnows stopped by Rachel Zoe‘s showroom to get inspired by her latest fashion line.

The fresh but frazzled Rachel Zoe went bananas at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Her spring line walked the runways in the outskirts of Lincoln Center, showing off a series of ’70s-inspired looks that she’s been aching to create.

The use of lace creates a classy blouse — great for slacks or dressing up jeans!

In an interview with NY 1, Rachel said this about the collection: “It’s a period of fashion and music that I’m obsessed with that I feel like I live in, but I actually don’t.” I guess it’s all about sticking to what you know and her skill set sure pulled through again for New York Fashion Week 2012.

You can’t help but love this ’70s spin on a pant suit; it comes in several earth tones.

To get a sense for what keeps the fashionista feeling creative, we took up an invite to her showroom in New York City. Right off Broadway and up to the 32nd floor, SheKnows got on Zoe’s level to preview the furs, pant suits, shoes and tables of gloves and winter accessories. We even got a sneak peek at her exclusive jewelry line for Neiman Marcus… but were sworn to secrecy.

These sequined tops are a fab way to create a flashy yet subtle look.

Rachel arrived wearing black bell bottoms in the stark white space. Bananas, right? She colored her look with a fuchsia sequined blouse. Around the room, earth tones dominated her line with a rock ‘n’ roll edge. Jewel toned accents were sprinkled throughout. Our fave? The blue and red velour-esque heels that seemed to glow.

Classic Rachel Zoe: Gloves and furs that go great with even the most outlandish pieces.

Though Rachel stayed true to form with furs and solid colors, she wasn’t afraid to break out sequins and lace to give her line understated elegance. We are used to seeing Rachel walk the streets in statement pieces but her 2012 fashion line was very wearable and consisted of clothes that any working mom can wear on the go without having to sacrifice style.

The verdict? Even off the runway, Rachel Zoe’s fashion collection put on a successful show.
