How to brighten up your eyes

Looking bright-eyed and bushy-tailed is always a plus in the beauty department. Whether your energy is lacking lately or you want to make your eyes simply look bigger, follow these three easy steps to a sweet doe-eyed look. .

Step 1: Shadow in

One of the most important elements in making your eyes look brighter and bigger is dusting your lids with the right eyeshadow. A light, dusty, white eyeshadow is always ideal because of the dewy look it gives off. Be careful to just add a quick swipe on your eyelids, though, because too much can end up making you look washed-out. Bronzed eyeshadow is always a great option as well. Choose a bronze eyeshadow that complements your skin tone, such as LORAC’s Starry-Eyed Baked Eyeshadow in Superstar, and lightly dust it on your lids and eyebrow bone.

Step 2: Get in line

After you’ve dusted some shimmery eyeshadow on your eyelids, line the top of your eyelid, getting as close to your lash line as possible, with liquid eyeliner. Maybelline’s Precise Liquid Eyeliner is a great pick, as it has a fine point to help you get a straight and bold swipe. For a flirty look, wing the eyeliner out a bit at the end of your eyes.

Once you’ve lined your upper eye, line your inner bottom lid with white eyeliner. Wet ‘n’ Wild has an inexpensive and effective white eyeliner pencil that works perfectly for this. After you’ve lined your bottom rim with white eyeliner, swipe some white eyeshadow just touching the bottom of your eyelid. This touch will really brighten up your eyes.

Step 3: Flutter up

The finishing touch to bright eyes is lots of mascara for look-at-me lashes. Swipe on some lengthening and volumizing mascara like BADgal Lash Mascara by Benefit Cosmetics. Add two coats to your top lashes. Move the brush from side to side on your lashes to really thicken them up, then finish it off with two more regular swipes. Add a coat on your bottom lashes, especially targeting the outer lashes. Voila! Your bright-eyed look is ready.
