Bags and bangles: Budget arm candy for spring

Accessories are so much fun to wear but they can get expensive, especially if you stock your closet with enough of them. Some of our favorite fashion extras are bags and bangles – two things we can’t get enough of. To stay within our summer budget (but still shop till we drop), we’ve sourced some affordable arm candy you’re sure to love.

Bangles under $25

Make it metallic

We love the versatility of this silver bangle with a hammered effect for extra texture (mango.com, $15). Not only does it exude the casual elegance you want from a summer accessory, but you can wear it with anything. Add interest to a simple sundress or use it to enhance your favorite LBD – the possibilities are endless!

Bold color block

From dresses to T-shirts and everything in between, color block is all over when it comes to summer style. That’s why this bright bracelet caught our eye (piperlime.com, $22). The bold hues of purple, orange and pink are perfect for warmer weather and we suggest donning this pretty piece with any neutral outfit you want to jazz up.

Flirty & floral

Make a summer style statement with this vintage-inspired bracelet covered in a multicolored floral pattern we love (modcloth.com, $16). Wear this budget-friendly piece of arm candy with a pair of high waist shorts, platform pumps and a sleeveless blouse for a polished but easy-wearing outfit.

Bags under $50

Drawstring hobo

You’ll be able to pack all of your summer essentials (sunscreen, reusable water bottle, phone) in this roomy drawstring hobo (gap.com, $40). The cute canvas bag comes in several summer-ready hues including green, yellow, coral and navy and has several pockets to help keep you organized on the go.

Chain handle tote

We fell for this pink faux leather tote as soon as we laid eyes on it (dsw.com, $40). The ostrich-embossed bag is simple in design but high on style. The slightly boxy shape adds sophistication, while the color screams fun. If pink isn’t your thing, try the taupe shade.

Straw bag

Usually straw is reserved for hats or beach bags which is why we were surprised to see it used to create this stylish bag (modcloth.com, $28). We love the wide stripes of cream, beige and dark brown and the go-anywhere vibe of what’s sure to become our newest summer staple.
