Handmade decor in no time

Etsy is an online marketplace where hundreds of thousands of creative people from more than 150 countries sell their handmade crafty goodness. Each week, we’re featuring a handful of our favorite items in our Etsy Roundup. On the menu this week: wedding decorations.

When you are planning a wedding, time can be just as valued as money. DIY details are a popular trend in today’s weddings, and they can add a personal touch to the event. However all that crafting takes time and with everything else you have going on, do yourself a favor and let someone else do the work. You’ll still have that homemade look with more time to spare for the rest of your planning duties.

Framed chalkboards

Chalkboards are perfect for anything from table numbers to signage to menus. They are a cute detail that you can use long after your big day is over. Etsy seller Shugabee Lane (find them on Facebook) has an adorable selection of framed chalkboards in various sizes and colors. These pastel chalkboards are slightly distressed to give them a touch of vintage flair and will look cute no matter how you use them.

Burlap banners

Banners are a cute way to label certain areas of your event like the gift table or the drink table, or they can serve as general decor if you get one with words like “love.” Many shop owners will even personalize banners with your names or wedding date, which can also double as a cute prop in photos. We love this burlap and lace banner from Etsy seller Lazy Caterpillar (find them on Facebook). It is customized with your date but just says “love”” so you can use it later as home decor or even in a nursery.

Paper flower garlands

Garlands are one of the easiest ways to add some interest to an event without spending a ton of cash. Etsy seller Lillesyster makes an adorable line of paper flower garlands that can be used in a variety of ways. Hang them on tables, along the aisle, on the backs of chairs or from the ceiling. They can make them in a variety of colors and sizes, so they can fit into any space or event.

Moss monograms

Personalize your event with moss monograms. Smaller versions can be hung on your chairs or near the altar. Etsy seller Lamandle makes a super cute version that comes complete with two initials and an ampersand sign. They’ll look just as lovely hanging in your home after the wedding.
