The power of positive thinking

Empower yourself and be happier by thinking positively. Allow yourself to be happier by getting rid of negative thoughts and mindsets.

Happy thoughts

Empower yourself and be happier by thinking positively. Allow yourself to be carefree by getting rid of negative thoughts and mindsets.

Treat others how you want to be treated

If you abide by the Golden Rule, you are less likely to feel negatively about others, and they are less likely to feel negatively about you. Treat others with respect and if need be, agree to disagree. Everyone would have a much better environment if they held themselves accountable to the Golden Rule. This will bring more peace to your life, and it will decrease your selfish ways.

Talk positively about others

No one likes a friend who talks negatively about their other friends behind their back. This tells them that you cannot be trusted. We have all been guilty of bashing others in the heat of the moment, so take a step back the next time you feel anger or resentment toward someone and just let the issue go. If you have an ongoing issue with someone, take it up with that person calmly and rationally. They will respond much better if you approach them without attacking them.

Be thankful and content

Take a moment every day to reflect on the blessings you have been given and try to be content with what you have. Health, safety and having people in your life that you love are things to be grateful for. Not having a brand new car, house, dress or TV are things that make you unnecessarily cranky but shouldn’t. Most of us have plenty of material possessions that we simply don’t need anyway.

Ignore the haters

Jealously is an ugly emotion. There will be people that will cut you down to build themselves up. You can either ignore their actions and chalk it up to jealousy, or if it is an ongoing issue, you may want to distance yourself from these people. On the other side of this, when someone has success in their life, try your best to be sincerely happy and supportive of them. This is what you would like for them to do for you right? It all goes back to the Golden Rule. Be positive toward yourself and others, and surround yourself with people who try to do the same.

Visualize positive outcomes

Have a job interview, a big project or event coming up? Are you nervous about it, or are you dreading it? Try to visualize the event in your head with a positive outcome to get yourself pumped about it instead of being anxious. Think of all of the positive things this new job could lead to, or the old friends you could run into at your uncle’s wedding. Think positive and you will have a better experience.

Smile and laugh more

Surround yourself with people who make you happy. Enjoy the little things in life like a beautiful sunny day or the way your niece’s smile lights up the room. Get out there and have fun with life and it will have fun with you in return.
