A simple and stylish way to add a touch of cheer to your New Year’s Eve celebration is to make these DIY printable hats for you and your party guests.
Inspired by the art deco trend, these silver, gray and gold-toned party toppers will coordinate with any outfit and are sure to put everyone in a festive mood. Just download and print the templates onto card stock, follow the directions below to make a tassel-topped cone hat and a glorious New Year’s crown.
Supplies:
- White card stock (one sheet per hat)
- Color printer
- Headband for each hat
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun.
Instructions:
Step 1
Download the PDFs of the hats and print your hats.
Step 2
Trim each hat with scissors.
Step 3
For the cone hats, make small slits in the rectangle piece to create a fringe.
Step 4
Roll the fringe into a tassel and hot glue it onto the top of the cone.
Step 5
Secure the two edges of the cone together with hot glue.
Step 6
Cut two slits on the edge of the cone hat.
Step 7
Slide headband through the slits of the cone hat so that it will sit securely on a head.
Step 8
For the crown hat, wrap the three tabs around a headband and use hot glue to secure onto the band.
Step 9
Celebrate the coming of the new year in style!
