Supplies:
- Burlap
- Scissors
- 6 lace heart doilies
- Glitter paint
- Mod Podge glue
- Paint brush
- Glue gun
- Twine or ribbon
Instructions:
Cut burlap into even-sized rectangles
Cut the burlap into even-sized rectangles, using the first one as a template for the rest. Make sure the rectangle is large enough for the heart to fit comfortably in the center.
Paint doilies with glue and glitter
Mix the glue with the colored glitter in a shallow bowl (each color needs a separate bowl).
Paint the center of the hearts with the glittered glue. Then, immediately sprinkle the glue with additional glitter.
Glue hearts to burlap
Paint glue to the back of the heart (the opposite side that is not glittered) and stick to the burlap. Hold the doily down so it sticks to the burlap, then let it dry.
Glue burlap to twine or ribbon
Lay the hearts out as you would like them to appear on the twine.
Using a hot glue gun, glue the burlap to the twine, holding it down so it sticks.
You might want to do this part outside so the glue doesn’t get on anything else. Repeat until all of the hearts are hung. Then, hang your banner on your mantel and enjoy!
