DIY gumdrop wreath for under $20

Who said gumdrops were just for eating? Spruce up your front door for spring and Easter with this cute, festive and edible gumdrop wreath.

Not only is this wreath adorable, it’s very budget friendly! The entire wreath costs less than $20 and it only takes about an hour to make. Forget those cookie cutter floral wreaths and add this bright gumdrop decoration to your front door or wall this Easter!

Supplies:

• 1 styrofoam wreath (we used a 14″ one)
• About 335 gumdrops
• About 100 spice drops
• Hot glue gun
• Ribbon
• Adhesive spray

Instructions:

Tie a ribbon to the top of the wreath so you can hang once it’s done. Then, arrange a layer of gumdrops on the edge of the wreath. Alternate the colors to create a really colorful look.

Once you have the outer layer arranged, make another row of gumdrops on the inside edge, alternating the colors.

Using your hot glue gun, glue each gumdrop to the wreath, holding it down for about 5 – 10 seconds to set.

Repeat until all of the gumdrops have been glued down.

Add spice drops in the center space between each row of gumdrops (where you see styrofoam). Glue them down and hold for about 10 seconds to set.

Repeat until all of the spaces have been filled.

Glue a layer of gumdrops to the outside of the wreath, directly below the first layer on top of the wreath. Repeat on the inside of the wreath as well.

Fill in the holes on the inside with spice drops. We found it easier to cut the tops off the spice drops and glue them into the holes. (They didn’t stick out as much this way, making the gumdrop layer still visible.)

Fill in the remaining gaps on the outside rim of the wreath with the rest of the colored spice drops. Let wreath dry for at least an hour. Spray with varnish or adhesive spray to keep away the bugs!
