Some of the world’s most luxurious accommodations aren’t hotel rooms or sprawling villas. In fact, they’re not on land at all. The proof is in this lineup of lavish cruise ship suites.

Sail the high seas in style aboard Celebrity Cruises’ Reflection Suite, a two-bedroom sanctuary where the highlight is a sea-view bathroom that extends out over the ship’s edge. Accommodating up to six people, the Reflection Suite comes with European-style butler service, in-room meals, afternoon tea and evening hors d’oeuvres. Located in a private deck area, the panoramic corner location features floor-to-ceiling, sliding-glass veranda doors and windows for maximum views. The Reflection Suite is found on Celebrity Cruises’ newest ship, which also includes a fresh line of upgraded AquaClass Suites with spa amenities. Choose from destinations throughout the Caribbean or the Eastern Mediterranean.

Disney Cruise Line’s grandest cruise ship suite, the Concierge Royal Suite with Verandah, measures approximately 1,780 square feet and includes a bedroom, two bathrooms, dining salon, media library and wet bar. Art deco furnishings incorporate fine artwork and vintage Disney hallmarks. But even more standard staterooms on Disney Cruise Lines’ Fantasy and Dream ships are designed with style specifically for families. Well-planned features are all about comfort and luxury, like elevated bed frames for under-the-bed luggage storage and round tubs with a built-in seat for bathing children. Kids will love the “magical porthole,” a monitor that shows video from outside the ship, with special appearances from characters such as Nemo and Mickey Mouse.

Four recently revamped Master Suites on the 490-guest Regent Seven Seas Navigator ship offer more than 1,060 square feet of space, including a spacious 106-square-foot balcony. Besides refurbished furniture and décor, suites include a living room and dining space for up to six people. Additional suite amenities are personalized butler service, daily canapés, upgraded bar and the chance to host a complimentary cocktail party during your voyage. Off the ship, you’ll enjoy priority shore excursions and restaurant reservations, plus special discounts. Regent Seven Seas is an all-inclusive cruise line that sails to destinations around the world, including Africa, South America and Asia.

If you’re looking for a more intimate cruising experience, consider a European adventure with A-ROSA River Cruises. Its newest ship, A-ROSA Silva, accommodates just 186 passengers in 89 total staterooms. Choose from the Main/Danube itinerary — 8 or 14 nights cruising through Germany, Austria, Slovakia and Hungary — or just the Danube trip, which includes 10 or 11 nights to all of these countries plus others, including Croatia.
