Anne Hathaway goes blond!

Anne Hathaway went all out for the 2013 Met Gala: She dyed her hair platinum blond. Who was her celeb hairspiration for the look?

Anne Hathaway definitely wanted attention at the 2013 Met Gala — and she got it! The Oscar-winning actress stepped on the red carpet at the Metropolitan Museum of Art wearing a platinum blond color — a stark contrast from her typical dark locks.

And we love it!

“I don’t know that you could tell it by looking at me, but [Blondie lead singer] Debbie Harry was (my inspiration),” she told Vogue.com on the red carpet.

That’s all well and good, but for some reason she totally reminds us of Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman.

The actress — who wore Valentino — entrusted her strands to celebrity colorist Marie Robinson to create the drastic change. Then, celebrity stylist Sascha Breuer gave her the pompadour.

“Drawing inspiration from unforgettable punk icons like Poly Styrene from X-Ray Spex and Joan Jett, I decided to go for a look that was glam, edgy and yet very youthful and fun,” Breuer told HollywoodLife.com. “We kept the style much shorter for Anne and had a lot of fun playing around with it. To enhance her punk look further, we decided to take her hair to the next level — a new cool platinum blonde color and the sharp slightly boyish finish with loads of texture were the perfect match.”

We’re loving the edgier Anne! No word on whether she plans to keep the look, but we hope it sticks around for a while because it definitely suits her.

Maybe she can share hair care tips with Miley Cyrus? We’d do anything to be there for that conversation.
