Great Father’s day vacation ideas

Sometimes dear old Dad deserves a few days off! Here are the best Father’s Day vacations for three different kinds of dads.

For the golfer: Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Myrtle Beach has been called “the golf capital of the world” not only because of its 115 golf courses, but also due to its 46 mini golf courses! Make this Father’s Day a family affair in Myrtle Beach, where Dad can tackle some of the world’s most challenging golf courses designed by Arnold Palmer, Jack Nicklaus and Robert Trent Jones during the day, and then challenge the kids in a game of putt-putt at night. To really win the “Child (or Wife) of the Year” award, book the Champions Package at the Tournament Players Club of Myrtle Beach which includes accommodations in either a 3-bedroom or 4-bedroom luxury villa located on club grounds and three rounds of golf. The Tournament Players Club features a real PGA Tour layout, as it played host to the Senior PGA Tour Championship in 2000, and is the only course in Myrtle Beach to earn a five-star rating from Golf Digest.

For the fisherman: The Florida Keys

The tropical islands that make up the Florida Keys are a fisherman’s paradise. From the northernmost island of Elliott Key to Key West, the southernmost point in the continental United States, fishermen can find all types of fishing, including light tackle, deep sea and wreck fishing. Anglers can get their hands on a wide range of underwater species like grouper, snapper, blue marlin, tuna and yellowtail. No boat? No problem. The historic bridges that border the Florida Keys Overseas Highway serve as great fishing platforms (saltwater licenses are still required) for those who aren’t able to head out to sea. Another option if you don’t own a boat is to book a fishing package for Pops and his buddies through Pretty Work Charters in Islamorada, Florida. A three-night package includes one full day and one half day of fishing on a 46-foot or 50-foot Sportfish boat and accommodations at the charming Islander Resort. The boat can accommodate up to 20 people.

For the high-roller: Las Vegas, Nevada

The final installment of The Hangover trilogy was released last week, and we’re pretty sure it will serve as inspiration to some dads out there. Although things can get pretty crazy in the City of Sin, it is possible to plan a fun-filled vacation fit for the whole family. Start out with a three-course Father’s Day brunch at Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar where Dads will also receive a $25 dining card for a future visit. Book the JW Marriott Las Vegas golf vacation package, which includes one round of golf for two per night at TPC Las Vegas, breakfast buffet for two per each night stayed, and two entry passes to Spa Aquae. Treat dear old Dad to the Gentlemen’s Experience Package for a sports massage, organic male facial and Quench manicure. Finally, let him get the full gaming experience at the 50,000-square-foot Rampart Casino with poker, blackjack, slot machines, roulette and a race and sports betting club.
