There’s an app for everything. If you’re a smart phone-toting gardener, you’ll be pleased to learn that there are several iPhone apps out there to help you with garden planning and advice. I haven’t used any of these gardening apps yet, but I’m thinking I may need to revise my list to Santa.

Here’s a sample of what’s available:

Eden Garden Designer: Start with a photo of your garden and then choose from the plant library to complete your landscape. The app lets you filter plants by climate, height, color and other variables. You can also rearrange your garden plan and share it with friends.

Garden Buddy: Ever try to figure out how much soil you need for a space? Or search endlessly for a certain garden product? This buddy can perform calculation and complete directory searches, making it a helpful tool for experienced or novice gardeners.

GardenPilot: This directory includes information on over 14,000 plants and educational articles.

iGarden USA: This app has a comprehensive collection of information on planting and harvesting schedules based on your region and climate.

Bugs and Insects: Never wonder, “What’s that bug?” again. this app contains a database of over 900 bugs, including pests and beneficial insects.

At only $0.99 each, gardening apps are a steal.  Put technology to work for you in the garden!
