If you live in on the East Coast or Midwest, chance are all you have to do to see beautiful fall colors is simply step outside your front door. For others, consider taking a weekend getaway to experience autumn at its finest. Here’s where to go to see fall foliage:
Vermont: One of the most popular destinations for viewing fall leaves, Vermont displays it’s leaves earlier in fall. Norther Vermont leaves typically are at their peak during the end of September to early October while the southern part of the state ranges from early to mid-October.
New York: Another popular destination for fall, foliage in New York offers a particularly great display in the Adirondacks and Catskills Mountains. If planning a longer trip, hop down to NCY because while you might not see beautiful natural elements, you’ll see some fabulous fall fashion.
Massachusetts: Sugar Maples tend to show the best display during the first two weeks of October in Massachusetts and a trip to the Berkshires will give you a lovely view. There are plenty of things to see and do there, including an annual Fall Foliage festival that takes place during late September/early October
West Virginia: One of the best spots to take a fall drive is the Highland Scenic Highway in Pocahontas County which travels through the Mongahelia National Forest in West Virginia. This area sports some of the brightest fall colors.
